In 2010 Fly Fish Company made a big contract with one of leading pelagic fish producers in Iceland, the event giving a further boost of the company's position on the Russian market, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/) with reference to the company.

According to the company, the contract with the Icelandic company of Samherji has enabled it to boost its supplies of pelagic fish to the Russian market by 50%.

In 2010 Fly Fish imported ca.40,000 tonnes of seafood, mostly mackerel, herring, herring flaps and saury as compared to 12,000 tonnes imported from Iceland, Scotland, the Netherlands, Ireland, Norway and Japan in 2009.

Mackerel contributes 60-70% of the company's import shipments.
