Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency has released fresh figures on wild salmon catch in the Russian Far East as per 20 August current, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

According to the Agency, as per 20 August the salmon catch in the Russian Far East has reached 340 k tonnes, one and a half times more than on the same date of 2010.

Among the regions, Kamchatka has kept the lead with a little less than 250 k tonnes of salmon at the closing phase of the season.

Despite smaller harvest than last year the inventory from the previous season and poor international demand are creating problems for producers on the market.
