Mixed Russian-Norwegian Commission on Fisheries approving TACs 2012

At the 40th session in mid-October 2011 Mixed Russian-Norwegian Commission on Fisheries has approved nations' TACs 2012 for Northeast arctic cod and haddock, capelin and halibut, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

More specifically, the TACs have been set at the following volumes:

  • Northeast arctic cod TAC - 751,000 MT, 8% up on 2011;
  • Northeast arctic haddock TAC - 318,000 MT, 5% up on 2011;
  • Barents Sea capelin TAC - 320,000 MT, 16% down on 2011;
  • Black halibut TAC - 18,000 MT, 3,000 MT up on 2011.

The sides have also agreed on technical regulations for black halibut fishery.
