Russian Pacific salmon catch exceeding 330 thousand MT
The total catch of Pacific salmon in the Russian Far East, according to the territorial departments of Rosrybolovstvo, as of September 29, 2025, amounted to 334,424 metric tons.
The above figure is broken down between the following regions:
- Kamchatka Territory – 258,884 MT (77.4%),
- Khabarovsk Territory – 32,753 MT(9.8%),
- Sakhalin Oblast -20 601 MT(6.2%),
- Magadan region – 12,745 MT(3.8%),
- Primorsky Krai – 9,114 MT(2.7%),
- Chukotka Autonomous Okrug – 327 MT(0.1%).
As compared to the previous odd years of 2021 and 2023, the nation’s catches of Pacific salmon are significantly lower so far. Catches in 2021 and 2023 by late September amounted to 525,836 and 594,727 tonnes, respectively.
The catch structure is as follows:
- pink salmon – 222,484 MT (66.5%),
- chum salmon – 59,274 MT (17.7%),
- sockeye salmon – 42,758 MT(12.8%),
- coho salmon – 9,630 MT(2.9%),
- chinook salmon – 235 MT(0.1%),
- sima – 43 MT(0.01%).
