The National Agro Forestry and Fisheries Quality Assurance Directorate (NAFIQAD) has received a document from National Agriculture Quarantine and Inspection Authority (NAQIA) in Papua New Guinea approving officially of frozen Vietnamese pangasius fillet import in the country, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to VASEP.

Frozen pangasius processing factories for exporting to Papua New Guinea have to be in the list recognized by NAFIQAD as well as be compliant with NAQIA ‘s procedures and requirements.

According to Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnam used to export pangasius to Papua New Guinea market but this work was temporarily stopped due to some quality assurance procedures. In 2010, Vietnamese pangasius was exported to about 140 global markets.
