Directive of Rosselkhoznadzor about temporary restrictions of seafood export from Indonesia and India to Russian Federation

Due to discovery of an exceeded content of mercury in butterfish from Indonesia (plant No. 213/PP/SKP/PB/1/09/05), of colibacillus bacteria in the surimi mince from India (plant No.1103) from 15, March 2009 temporary restrictions shall be implemented to import fish and non-finfish products onto the territory of the Russian Federation from the above plants, reports http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/).

In case of shipments of products from the plants before 15, March 2009 the decision to allow the cargo into the territory shall be taken according to the usual routine. Territorial bodies of Rosselkhoznadzor shall take samples of the products for laboratory tests in order to discover forbidden and harmful elements from each coming consignment of the products in accordance with the directive of Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) No. FS-SD-2/3536 (Cl.1) dated 18, April 2007.

If the investigations of the seafood products give a positive test result the vets are to act in accordance with the directive No. FS-SD-2/3536 (Clauses 4-6) dated 18, April 2007.
