YANTAR Yard moves newbuilding trawler to open slipway

YANTAR shipyard based in Kaliningrad region has moved the main part of the hull of “Viktor Gavrilov” factory trawler from the slipway assembly shop to the open slipway, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to the yard, the vessel is built to 5670WSD design as a large factory trawler (BMRT by Russian classification).

This is the largest of the vessels currently under construction at domestic shipyards, and the fourth trawler ordered by Kamchatka-based Lenin Fishing co-op.

The BMRT 5670WSD design was developed by Wartsila Vostok LLC (Saint Petersburg). The supertrawler has a displacement of 14,210 tons and an overall length of 121 m. The delivery date is scheduled for 2023.
