Russian Vet Watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor issues Warning to two Indian Plants

September 7, 2012 10:45

E.coli bacteria were detected in a consignment of fresh-frozen shrimps produced by Indian plant No.940 (M/s Coastal Corporation Ltd) and frozen minced surimi from Indian plant No.1142 (1142 (M/s Kan Foods), reports http://www.megafishnet.com/  with reference to Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor (FSVPS for short).

Since the importers committed violations for the first time the Rosselkhoznadzor considered it possible not to impose restrictions on these plants but to strengthen laboratory control according to safety criteria in the detected risk group.

M/s Coastal Corporation Ltd was approved for import to Russia back in July 2010 while M/s Kan Foods was approved in April of the same year.
