Leading Faroese producer of salmon boosting shipments to Russia
Leading Faroese salmon producer Bakkafrost has increased its sales of frozen salmon and trout to Russia, according to the customs records of the country.
In terms of volume, in the first nine months of 2018 the export of frozen Atlantic salmon and chilled salmon trout went up by nearly 13% from 8,741.90 metric tons to 9,849.57 metric tons as compared to the same period of 2017.
In terms of value, the increase was some 33%: from 67.35 million USD to 89.69 million USD which brought the company to the top1 importer in the period under analysis.
