Faroese largest salmon farmer Bakkafrost acquires P/F Havsbrun

P/F Bakkafrost, the largest salmon farmer in the Faroe Islands, has received approval from the Faroese Competition Authorities for the acquisition of P/f Havsbrún and related companies, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Bakkafrost.

Bakkafrost is the largest salmon farmer in the Faroe Islands. The Group is fully integrated from smolt to VAP and sales. The Group operates licenses on 14 farming sites located in 13 different fjords. The Group has primary processing in Klaksvík and Kollafjørð and secondary processing (VAP) in Glyvrar. After the acquisition of Havsbrún, Bakkafrost will operate licenses on 19 farming sites located in 18 different fjords.
