Russian vets (Rosselkhoznadzor) lifted the import ban for the Estonian fish processor Kajax Fishexports AS. This autumn the company plans to begin shipping frozen fish to Russia.

In spring earlier this year the Russian veterinary inspectors visited four Estonian fish processing plants and checked the fish product quality control system in the food control laboratory of the Estonian veterinary-food department.

As a result of those inspections, Rosselkhoznadzor decided to lift temporary restrictions from AS Kajax Fishexport and now the company is allowed to export sprats and herring (frozen, salted and in brine) to Russia, as well as to other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
