The first of a series of super trawlers being built for the Russian Fishery Company at the Admiralty Shipyards in St. Petersburg received names. They are named after the honored veterans of the RFC companies: "Captain Vdovichenko" and "Mechanic Maslak".

“The new vessels will bear the names of people who all their lives have been connected with fishing, fishing in the Far East,” said RFC CEO Fedor Kirsanov. - Unfortunately, recently they were gone. And we decided to keep the memory of them in the history of our company and the fishing fleet, naming the first super trawlers in their honor. ”

Anatoly Vdovichenko (1937-2017) worked for almost 30 years in the companies later incorporated into RFC group. He started working as a captain when he was 33 on the vessel "Medic". Awarded with government diplomas and awards.

Anatoly Vdovichenko was deeply devoted to the profession and all his life he served the interests of the industry. Having retired in 1998, he continued to pass on experience to the younger generation. He taught marine specialties at Sovgavan vocational school No. 13 until his death in 2017.

Vasily Maslak (1952 - 2018) chose the maritime profession following the example of his older brother, who served in the Navy. He graduated from the Naval College with a degree in ship mechanics. At the age of 20, he started working at the Fish Factory in the village of Lososina (the company later incorporated into RFC group), where he worked until 2009.

At the age of 26, he took the position of chief mechanic thanks to high professionalism and responsibility. He was a universal mechanic and worked on fishing vessels of any class. Suppliers of vessels spare parts from different regions of the country addressed the expertise of Vasily Maslak. He was awarded the badge “For trouble-free operation”.

In total, the Admiralty Shipyards will build 10 modern super trawlers for the RFC. The entire series will be built in pairs, two vessels a year with an interval of about a year between the pairs. The total investment in the construction of the series is more than 65 billion rubles.

Each new vessel that will be built for the Russian Fishery Company is designed for an annual catch of about 60 thousand tons of fish. This is twice as much as the performance of the ships that make up today the fleet of the RFC and many other Russian companies operating in the basin. The vessels will be equipped with a modern factory capable of carrying out deep waste-free processing of the entire catch into high value-added products, primarily Pollock fillets and surimi. The capacity of such a factory for the production of high added value products is more than doubled compared with analogues.

The construction is carried out as part of the state program of investment quotas.
