NAMES CHOSEN FOR NEW VESSELS

HB Grandi has contracted to have five new vessels built in Turkey, as has already been reported. These are two pelagic vessels and three fresher trawlers. The names and registrations of these new vessels being delivered between 2015 and 2017 have now been decided.

According to HB Grandi CEO Vilhjálmur Vilhjálmsson, the first pelagic vessel will be delivered in the early part of next year and will be named Venus, and will sail under an NS registration. Its sister vessel is due later the same year and will be Víkingur AK.

Two of the fresher trawlers will be delivered in 2016 and the first will be Engey RE, followed by Akurey AK. The third fresher is due to be completed in Turkey in 2017 and will carry the Videy RE name.
