Commission invites stakeholders to discuss Reform of the Market Policy on Fishery and Aquaculture Products

On 7, July, 2010 the European Commission will be holding a large stakeholder seminar focussed on "The Reform of the Market Policy on Fishery and Aquaculture Products", reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to EC.

The purpose of this one-day event is to discuss options for reform of the Common Market Organisation (CMO) for Fishery and Aquaculture Products in the context of the overall reform of the Common Fisheries Policy. The seminar will revolve around some of the main market issues, such as the sector's organisation, price and intervention mechanisms, marketing standards and consumer information and the management of external supply sourcing.  It will gather operators from the fishing and aquaculture industry (from first sale to retail, including wholesalers, processors and distributors) and representatives of civil society, Member States and European Institutions. The seminar will take place at the "Centre de Conférences Albert Borschette" in Brussels, between 10 am and 6 pm.
