China strengthening control of Russian fishmeal

March 17, 2011 14:57
Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) has received a sample of a new health certificate for fishmeal, fish oil and other animals' protein products aimed for export from Russia to China, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

According to new Chinese requirements, each consignment of such products exported to China should be laboratory tested for compliance with Chinese standards of food quality and safety.

In December 2010 Chinese vets inspected fish processing plants from Russian Far East to approve them for exportation of their fishmeal products to China. The inspection was organized and funded by Alaska Pollock Association.

Chinese authorities found Russian fish processing plants compliant with Chinese requirements.
