Blue whiting landings turning into a problem for Saint Petersburg traders

March 1, 2010 15:54

In the closing weeks of February 2010 Saint Petersburg traders have been facing problems with blue whiting landings, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/).

Some market players complain that only one ship out of three expected has called at Saint Petersburg to land Scottish blue whiting. The Norwegian blue whiting has been also offered during two weeks, but the product has not yet been delivered to the city.

In the first week of March 2010 Saint Petersburg traders have been expecting three ship calls with blue whiting (including one with Norwegian fish). The total volume to be landed is forecasted at 5000 tonnes, which is much below the market need in the product.
