Big boost for French oyster export to Russia

French export of oysters to Russia increased twice in 2007 up to 340 tonnes from 170 tonnes in 2006. This makes Russia the sixth major importer of the French oyster along with such countries as Italy, Belgium, Spain, Germany and Netherlands, according to Globefish.

Total value of export to Russia increased to Euro 2, 230, 000 in 2007. For comparison in 2006 the import into Russian Federation from France amounted to Euro 930,000 that is 140% more than the previous period.
