Arkhangelsk companies report rising output versus lower value in January-September 2008

Fish companies based in Arkangelsk and Nenets Autonomous District have increased the harvest and production versus a slightly declining value in January-September 2008, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to Prime-Tass.Spb.

In particular, on the value side their turnover has decreased by 0.3% to 3.349 billion RUB in the first nine months of the year as compared to the same period in 2007.

In the first nine months of 2008 the region's harvest grew by 5.1% to 109,800 tonnes, and the output of commodity food products, canned fish inclusive, increased by 12.5% to 92,000 tonnes. The output of canned and marinated fish products in Arkangelsk and Nenets Autonomous District grew by 5.4% to 1,302,000 nominal cans.

FGUP Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet Base, OAO Arkhangelsk Rybokombinat (plc), ZAO FlotArkhangelskrybprom (closed jsc), OOO Arkhangelsk rybzavod (ltd) and Maimaksky fish processing plant are among the largest fish businesses of the Arkhangelsk province.
