Russia’s leading salmon producer buying MSC and ASC-certified fish processing plant

"Russian Aquaculture" PJSC (Russia’s largest company in the sector of commercial salmon and trout farming) has announced the exercise of an option to purchase the remaining 60% of an up-to-date plant for primary processing of fish in the Murmansk region, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to RA, taking into account the value of the option, the transaction amounted to 358.5 million rubles (ca.$4.9 million).

As a result of the exercise of the option, the percentage of the Company's ownership in the authorized capitals of "Three Streams" LLC and "Murmanrybprom" LLC reached 100%.

The plant, which currently has a capacity of 30 thousand metric tons per year, has modern equipment for salmonids’ processing, a cold storage facility, developed infrastructure, and is located in convenient transport accessibility from the existing and new farms of the Company. The plant meets the high requirements of "Russian Aquaculture" PJSC for the quality of its products, safety and compliance with sanitary standards.

The production is certified according to the international standards of Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), which indicates the recognition of the high quality of existing production processes and products and gives a competitive advantage in terms of deliveries to customers who require compliance with the quality of products to high international standards.
