12th fish international
An Eastern European partner country for the first time, topical forums with fresh ideas and themes, brand-new products, plus creative star chefs: fish international from 21th to 23th February 2010 is viewed as the industry’s key source for new contacts and a broad scope of interesting topics and high-quality products. The fair for fish and seafood is set to take place next year for the eleventh time.
Due to its central location fish international is the best address for decision-makers from Eastern Europe. As one of Germany’s neighbours, and of interest not only to the German fish export business but also as a supplier to the German retail trade, Poland had been an obvious choice for the fair’s partner country, said Hans Peter Schneider, the Managing Director of fair organisers MGH Messe- und Ausstellungsgesellschaft Hansa GmbH. The partner country Poland will present itself at fish international together with the Association of Polish Fish Importers, the Polish fish trade journal ‘Magazyn Przemyslu Rybnego’, and the Development and Promotion Organisation of the Polish Fish Industry,. “Germany is an important market for us and we can meet our customers in Bremen. We are pleased that there will be special focus on Poland as the partner country and we are eager to take part”, says Romualda Bialkowska from the Polish fish processor Szkuner, underlining the significance of the fair.
At the Polish pavilion, star chef Kurt Scheller – a well-known television chef in Poland with a lot of experience gained at top restaurants – will give visitors an idea of Polish fish products.
The East-West Forum will convey insights into the requirements of the new markets and at the same time take a close look at technical solutions and innovations in the fish processing sector.
What organisational structures exist in community catering in Poland? What are the requirements of the Polish grocery sector? Which packaging will give me a competitive advantage? Questions such as these will be answered at the Forum”, says Sabine Wedell, the Project Manageress of fish international. Already in 2006 the East-West Forum led to a large number of new contacts – fish international registered a growth of 51% from Eastern Europe.
