New Alaska pollock processing plant to be ready in Primorye ahead of schedule / March 15, 2019 09:20

Vladivostok-based Russian Fishery Company is building a new fish processing plant Russian pollock. According to the schedule, the plant is to be commissioned in 2020, though the company says they are running ahead of schedule.

The new processing facility will help the company raise its production capacity by 20% and expand its range of ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat products.

Main products of the first stage of the plant will be pollock fillets and mince. On commissioning the second stage the plant will produce high quality value-added products, ready-to-eat inclusive, for the domestic market and export to China and Asian countries.

The Russian pollock project is being realized under the government program on investment capture quotas linked to obligation to build new fishing vessels and processing facilities inside Russia. After the company launches its new plant, it will get extra quotas for capture of 14,500 tonnes of Alaska pollock and herring.

Total investments into the project are estimated at 1.5 billion RUR (ca. 20.3 million Euro).
