Restrictions for seafood importation from Kazakhstan imposed by the Russian vets / January 18, 2010 13:21

In response to numerous applications of the interested parties Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced temporary restrictions for importation of fish, fish products and non-finfish products (including zander) from Kazakhstan into the Russian Federation, reports http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ (http://www.fishnet.ru/) with reference to the service.

More specifically, according to the Service's Directive FS -AS -4/11825 dated 28 December 2009, seafood importation from Kazakhstan has been allowed only from the plants approved by Russian vets as of 1 January 2010.

In this situation, the Service's directives No.FS-GK-4/7817 dated 6 August 2008 and FS - NV-4/180 have been declared no more valid since 10 December 2009.
